Richard is a musician who has been composing, performing and producing original music for over fifteen years. Educated & trained as a classical violinist at an early age, Richard gravitated towards bass & acoustic guitar. His advanced high school electronic music courses gave him the basic education for engineering & production. He has released 5 critically acclaimed CD's to date and received 30 songwriting awards from various international and regional songwriting contests, including Billboard Magazine. Richard's music and recordings can be heard frequently on WTMD 89.7-FM, as well as WEAA 88.9-FM, WRNR 103.1-FM and various radio & satellite stations around the United States. His passion for original music has earned Richard the respect of his peers and the general public. In addition to his role of the leader and bass guitarist of The Richard Walton Group (his all-original contemporary jazz group), Richard continues to perform regularly as an acoustic solo artist.
